Die Kirinya Shalom School
Unsere Kinder besuchen die Kirinya Shalom School, die in Kira Municipality 12 km von der Hauptstadt Kampala entfernt liegt. Die Schule wurde 2016 vom Schuldirektor Joseph Kalema gegründet, um allen Kinder in den umliegenden Vororten die Möglichkeit zum Schulbesuch zu geben. Es ist eine Nursery & Primary School, das bedeutet Kindergarten und Grundschule von P1 bis P7. Die Kinder kommen entweder zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus zur Schule. Unterrichtszeiten sind von Montag bis Samstagmittag. Es werden zwei Mahlzeiten angeboten (Frühstück und Lunch). Die Schulgebühren sind gering, können jedoch oftmals von den Eltern nicht aufgebracht werden. In Ugandas Schulen tragen die Schüler eine Schuluniform, die häufig die beste Kleidung ist, die sie besitzen. Zuhause tragen sie ihre Alltagssachen.Unterrichtssprache ist Englisch und in den Pausen unterhalten sich die Kinder in einem Gemisch aus Englisch und zahlreichen lokalen Sprachen. Die Schule wird derzeit von etwa 230 Kindern besucht.
The Kirinya Shalom School
Our children attend Kirinya Shalom School, located in Kira Municipality, 12 km from the capital Kampala. The school was founded in 2016 by director Joseph Kalema to give all children in the surrounding suburbs the opportunity to attend school. It is a nursery and primary school, which means kindergarten and primary school from P1 to P7. The children either walk or take the bus to school. Classes are held from Monday to Saturday afternoon. Two meals are provided (breakfast and lunch). School fees are low, but parents are often unable to afford them. In Ugandan schools, pupils wear school uniforms, which are often the best clothes they own. At home, they wear their everyday clothes. The language of instruction is English, and during breaks the children converse in a mixture of English and numerous local languages. The school is currently attended by around 230 children.
